Everyone wants a happy and healthy bird, but how do we make sure they stay that way? It’s very important to…
Cleaning the cage regularly
It’s necessary to change the paper everyday, or even 2 times a day. Birds produce plop (droppings) frequently. This makes the bottom of the cage a perfect breeding ground for bacteria, mites, and mold [, which could lead to your bird having health problems and a lot of visits to the vet]. Regular cage cleaning helps prevent infections, and prevents smelly odors from stinking up the place!
Balancing diet
A balanced diet is very important for your bird. It makes your bird happy, and can even help fight off any illnesses. Pellets should be the main course followed by fruits and veggies. As for seeds, it should be kept more as a treat.
Keeping your bird active
Make sure you let your bird out for a flight, or give them interesting toys to chew on and play with. Birds are clever and need mental simulation to avoid boredom. Boredom can lead to stress and unwanted behavior, such as feather plucking, excessive screaming, pacing or head bobbing continuously (repeatedly), and aggression and biting (hard), even to those they trust.
Changing food & water
The food and water must be changed everyday to prevent your bird from getting sick because of the accumulation of bacteria.
